Verse Card Maker

August 19, 2009

How excited am I about the Verse Card Maker?  If I were Tom Cruise, I’d be jumping up and down on the couch across from Oprah.

What a fantastic tool for Bible memory!  I’ve tried making cards for myself on multiple occasions in the past.  The cards were doable but tricky and time-consuming.  Michael Scott has made it easy.

Explore the Moon

July 22, 2009

Google Earth now has a feature which allows you to explore the moon.  Take a tour of our nearest celestial neighbor, and don’t miss his message about God (Psalm 19:1).

Spanish for Beginners

May 11, 2009

Mango is great!  Not the fruit, but the FREE language program provided through the public library.  I’m not sure why it’s called Mango.  All I know is that you can log in here for 100 FREE lessons in conversational Spanish.  All you need is a library card.  Go get one today!

Did I mention how much the program costs?

And just in case you’re interested, Mango also includes tutorials in French, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, modern Greek, and more.  With just a little work, you’ll be able to ask people all over the world what their name is and how to find the bathroom.

The SBC Annual Meeting is being held in Indianapolis today and tomorrow.  You can visit the website here, on which you can see the schedule of events, watch the meeting through live streaming, view pictures, and read updated news stories about convention happenings.  Pray that the Lord will guide our convention to make wise decisions about our future.  May we become an increasingly gospel-shaped, gospel-sharing people.

Beautiful Chattanooga

June 4, 2008

In Pride and Prejudice, an incorrigible mother says to her eldest daughter upon her daughter’s engagement to be married, “I was sure you could not be so beautiful for nothing!”

The same thing apparently can be said of our fair city, though without any incorrigibility.  Chattanooga recently made somebody’s very discerning Top 10 list.  Check this out.
