An Inheritance of Bankruptcy

June 11, 2009

This is a great need in the Christian church today—we have a dearth of genuine fathers….  Many men who should now be training their boys to be men are not yet men themselves….  Many of the lessons about masculinity contained in Scripture must first be internalized by the fathers.  Such men must learn to be men themselves before they can teach their boys to be men.

  1. Tony Bennett Says:

“Hear, O sons, the instruction of a father, and give attention that you may gain understanding.”
    Proverbs 4:1

This goes for fathers of daughters as well. The morals and character you display are all (and I do mean all) reflected in your children. What kind of message are fathers sending to their children? Are we talking about others in front of our children? Do our children say things that embarass or anger us and then we realize that they heard these things from our own mouths? Fathers must rightly instruct their children AND be more Christlike at home as well as in public. Sometimes I get it right and sometimes I don’t. But in Jesus’s name I press on. Fathers, be someone that reflects Christ and you WILL see that in your sons and daughters.
