Band of Brothers

May 26, 2009

Last week kicked off the first of what will hopefully evolve into multiple small group gatherings of men meeting bi-weekly for the sake of encouraging one another in the Gospel. These gatherings are intended to build up men as we pursue biblical masculinity. What does it mean to pursue biblical masculinity? It means helping one another discover in God’s Word what it means to be a godly man in the home, at the workplace, on the ball field, when the church gathers, and in private when no one is looking.

This morning I had a wonderful time of fellowship around God’s Word, Cracker Barrel biscuits and coffee. Three other brothers and I had the chance to talk about what God’s Word has to say about fear (Psalm 56:3-4) and how to apply the promises of God’s Word to our own personal fears and struggles (fear of man, security, personal failure, etc).

If you are a man of any age and are interested in being encouraged our next meeting is Monday June 1 at Zaxby’s on East Brainerd. We will also begin a Downtown Discipleship group every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month on Monday June 8 at 12:00pm. We will meet at Qdoba on Market Street. Our next breakfast group will meet on Tuesday June 9 at 6:30pm at Cracker Barrel off Shallowford Road.

Come join the Band of Brothers!
