Where is the pastoral staff going this week?

Well, have you ever heard of Grand Teton National Park?  The Tetons are part of the Rocky Mountain range that stretches through western Wyoming.  The park itself covers 484 square miles, with over 200 miles of hiking trails around beautiful mountains and picturesque lakes.

That’s not where the pastoral staff is going this week.  But we are going somewhere just as grand, spiritually speaking.  Drew, Aaron, and I are going to a conference called Together for the Gospel in Louisville, KY.

T4G was started two years ago by four friends united in the gospel, though from different denominational backgrounds.  Mark Dever, Al Mohler, Ligon Duncan, and C. J. Mahaney desired to encourage other ministers to make the gospel the centerpiece of their personal lives and public ministries.  So in 2006, the men rented a convention hall, invited several other speakers to join them, put out the word, and 2800 people showed up.  This year over 5000 will be in attendance.

Will you pray for us while we are away?  We are eager to grow in our friendship with each other, to be refreshed spiritually, and to be challenged in our service to you.  You might also pray for the speakers as they lead us.  Their topics can be found here, along with other interesting information.

We won’t be posting while we’re away, but check back with us at the end of the week.

Three days.  Eight messages with discussion following each.  Incredible singing.  Big bookstore.  Good friends.  A true mountaintop experience.
